If you would like to learn how Digital Media will increasingly be used on the wireless Internet, this interview is for you. (Part 2 of 2).

Our guest today is Alan Reiter who is the President of The Wireless Internet and Mobile Computing consulting firm. Alan has been analyzing and reporting on wireless communications since the late 1970s before the first cellular licenses were even issued.
The advent of the iPhone makes it increasingly obvious that Digital Media is going to become a prominent feature of the wireless Internet. The rapid consumer acceptance of YouTube on the hard-wired Internet implies that video is going to become a basic feature of the wireless Internet as well. The “third screen” shall become an outlet for audio & video programming and advertising. Moreover, the portability of wireless devices implies spontaneity in terms of consumer program selection and interactivity with program sponsors.

The iPhone, and future competitive devices, will bring true web browsing to the Internet. Additionally, since the iPhone charges and synchronizes like the iPod, tens-of-millions of consumers will be able to use the Digital Media features of the unit. This is in contrast to competitive Digital-Media-enabled cell phones whose applications are generally too confusing for the average consumer to figure out.

Today’s interview will discuss more about the Digital Media, advertising, and interactive applications thought likely to become popular on the wireless Internet of the future.

Length: This video interview is about 12 minutes long.
