If you would like to learn how to create narrated PowerPoint presentations using only your telephone & computer, and generate hyperlinks to them for inclusion in emails, this interview is for you.

Subject: Our guests today are Joe Gustafson and Greg Flynn.  Joe is the CEO of Brainshark and Greg is a Vice President. Brainshark is a service used by one-third of the top 100 companies in America. It permits their executives to create narrated PowerPoint presentations using only their computers and a telephone. Additionally, it generates a hyperlink so that the presentations can be placed in emails and websites. Finally, it tracks information about who looks at the slides, how often, and the time spent on each slide.

Phil’s Take: The two most appealing features of Brainshark are its simplicity and tracking metrics. If you know how to make a PowerPoint and use a telephone, then you can create a narrated audio-visual that will be hosted on the web. This means that the presentations can be sent via email without burdening the recipients with large attachments.

Brainshark is a tool that could be particularly effective for embedding lucid presentations into the too-often-opaque press releases characteristic of many technology companies.

Tip of the Day: Podcasting to TVs

When our TVs get jacked-into the Internet we’ll gradually change the way we select our programs. First, we’ll use Google to find videos we want. Second, we’ll subscribe to those that we want to watch regularly. Importantly, our method of subscription will gravitate toward the RSS-Podcasting convention.

Thus, companies who are podcasting useful content, have a chance to get into the consumers living room without having to pay historical gatekeepers like ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox.
