If you would like to learn how the Internet is affecting newspapers, and television & radio stations, this interview is for you.

Our guest today is Colby Atwood who is the CEO of Borrell Associates. His company is a market research firm that specializes in helping traditional media companies adapt to the Internet. (Part 1 of 2)

In the first part of this two-part interview, our guest narrates a PowerPoint presentation about conventional and Internet advertising as it applies to the local markets.

After a survey of statistics applicable to all media types, the presentation drills-down to figures germane to Internet advertising. Statistics and forecasts are provided for Internet advertising with breakdowns for market share captured by dot-com newcomers. This is offset by estimates for the share retained by the online properties of conventional media, such as yellow pages, newspapers, TV stations, and radio stations.
