Our guest today is Ben Woolley who is a Vice President with Redmap Networks. For the past 14 years his Australian-based company has been a leader in document handling software in the Asia-Pacific region. They hope now to make a major impact in the States for email archival applications.

Over the past 4 years I’ve interviewed about 500 people. Most were originally contacted via email. Often I did not save the contact information. Therefore, as I deleted the email replies, the contact information was “lost”.

In time, this became a problem because I would sometimes want to get back in touch with them. Often, it was because they, or their companies, had become much bigger successes. This made it harder to get their email addresses from public sources. However, if all the emails were archived by an ASP, even if I deleted them, then I could recover the required information.

Redmap Networks addresses just such a need for small-to-medium-sized businesses. Not only can I search the emails themselves, but I can search the attachments as well. For example, I might recall that someone sent me a research paper providing a financial analysis of KaZaa. With Redmap I can search the term “KaZaa” and it will return all emails that contain the word, even if it is only in an attached research paper.
