The Neglected White Male Voter [22:08m]: Play Now | Play in Popup | Download

If you would like to learn about a political issue that first received currency within the Internet blogsphere, but has now become the topic of a book from a conventional publisher, this interview is for you.

Our guest today is David Paul Kuhn who is the author of The Neglected Voter. Kuhn believes that the Democrats must encourage the white male to return to the party if they hope to ever hold anything more than a short-lived majority.  Earlier Kuhn covered the 2004 Presidential Election for CBS news.
Earlier this year we interviewed one of the leading bloggers who had defended the falsely accused white male Duke Lacrosse players. Originally, his defense was a tiny voice of reason against a roar of bigoted condemnation from leading elements of the conventional press, most of which remain un-contrite to this day. It was thought that the story was a classic example of how the Internet, as new media, can serve to promote the interests of conventionally unpopular victims.

Now, a traditional publisher is releasing a book that points a finger at the core issue, to wit the characterization of white males as either racist and/or privileged. Such a misrepresentation seems to be particularly damaging to the Democratic Party. Today’s guest believes that the Democrats have not only incorrectly defined the white male, but by driving him from the party are painting themselves into a corner where they can never hope to sustain a lasting majority.
